Diversity, equity and inclusion
Making City programs, services and spaces accessible and welcoming to everyone.
The City is working to meet the Accessible British Columbia Act and the goals of its strategic plan. It acknowledges there is more work to do.
What the City is doing
- Staff developed an accessibility and DEI framework to guide improvements.
- The City takes part in the Regional District of East Kootenay’s accessibility committee, which makes recommendations on City operations.
- Policy 50-15 sets out the City’s DEI commitments.
