Official Community Plan

Cranbrook 2042, the City's 20-year plan for growth, housing, transportation and the environment.

Every BC municipality must have an Official Community Plan under the Local Government Act. It’s a long-term plan, made with the community, for land use, housing, transportation, infrastructure, parks, environmental protection, farmland, the economy, and arts and culture. The Zoning Bylaw puts it into action.

Cranbrook 2042

The new plan replaces Cranbrook’s 2006 plan. The City has worked on it with Urban Systems since 2022, through three phases of public engagement. Council gave the draft first reading on November 25, 2024.
